Cindy Sheehan

Last week the staff of KIW trekked to Crawford, Texas, and beyond . . . where we were privileged to meet Ms. Cindy Sheehan. Ms. Sheehan gave us a hug and impressed us as a wonderful, positive, truth-telling, life force.
at Camp Casey 29 Aug 2005

After our stay at Camp Casey we couldn’t help but observe that the people camped outside of Crawford, Texas might easily be compared with the followers of Jesus, who traveled with him when he was alive.

Maybe it was just the camping thing that made us think of Jesus and his disciples. Maybe it's the hypocrisy-puncturing truthfulness, or the simple message of love and peace that both Jesus and Cindy espouse. But maybe it’s the threat that their messages arouse in the respective governmental/religious establishments of their times. Maybe that's what really compels the comparison.

Unfortunately, some things just don’t seem to ever change.

For now, the staff of KIW just prays - every day - that The Most Reverend Pat Robertson doesn’t put a contract out on Cindy.
