Are the 9-11 hijackers winning?
KIW’s sociology department has (from afar) spotted a fateful trend in popular opinion in the Islamic world.
Populations that, in the 1990s, had been inclining toward more secular societies, have, since the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq, begun to embrace religious fundamentalism.
Iran is a good example of this. The trend seems to be taking shape in Turkey, as well.
