British communications law dictates that information on matters of political or business significance be presented with unbiased neutrality.
According to this article, there are penalties for presenting erroneous information
KIW’s Public Policy Department thinks that this British law reflects a proper reverence for the power of broadcast media. - A reverence that was once (but no longer) enshrined in U.S. communications law, by the Fairness Doctrine, from 1933 until 1987.
